Description

This work consists of elevating 48 residential structures above the 100 year floodplain in Milford, Connecticut. The project requires lifting (jacking) each structure off its block wall foundation, partial or total demolition of the existing foundation, construction of a new/extension of the remaining foundation, setting the house down on the new foundation, modifying/replacing mechanical, electrical, and architectual features as indicated, and site restoration to prework conditions. The estimated cost of the of the work is between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Work shall be completed within 600 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Solicitation will be available on or about January 17, 2001. Solicitation documents shall be available on the Web at http://acquisition.army.mil and/or http://www.nae.usace.army.mil. Prospective bidders, subcontractors, and plan rooms are required to self-register their firm or office through the Internet. Registration instructions are available at either of the two internet sites listed above. Neither telephonic, mailed or faxed requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information. Registration must include the firm's physical address, telephone, a valid fax number, and a point of contact. Registration shall be completed on week prior to the issue date. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made though the Internet only. It is therefore, the contractor's responsibility to check the Internet addresses listed above daily, for any posted changes to the soliciation. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the New England District.
