The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) has a requirement for a FRICTION STIR WELDING PROCESS DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (SEE SPECS BELOW) AXIS STROKE SPEED FORCE/TORGUE X (weld axis) 41" 0.1-30 in/min 15,000 lbf 60" work envelope Z (forge axis) 12.5" 0.1-55 in/min 30,000 lbf Tool Rotation Infinite 0.1-3000 RPM (loaded) 1600 lbf-in. Programmable +/- 15 degrees 0.1-300 20,000 lbf Tilt Head degrees/min (loaded) Adjustable Self 1.25" 0.1-50 in/min (loaded) 20,000 lbf Reacting Dual Shoulder System with Feedback Controller To include: 1. Control system including PC and digital motion and process controller 2. Software for Programming Interface, Real Time Process control and data acquistion of all functions. Vendors who can furnish equal equipment/services are invitied to submit, by fax, a statement as to what equipment would be offered and any other information which would show a bona fide abililty to meet the specific requirements. Responses must indicate whether equipment if available under a current GSA contract. Evaluation of Bids/Offers. A bidder/offeror must quote on all items in this solicitation to be eligible for award. The Government will award on an "all or none" basis. Evaluation of bids/offers will be based, among other factors, upon total price quoted for all items. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeor whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price, delivery and past performance will also be considered.
