Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number W81UJF031302AA is issued as a request for quotations using simplified acquisition procedures in Part 13. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-20. This solicitation is not set aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333291 and small business size standard is 500 employees. Contract line item number 0001 SEMI-AUTOMATIC BOX MAKING MACHINE, quantity 1 each and CLIN 0002 COMPANION SLITTER, quantity 1 each. The contractor shall comply with the following requirements: Semi-automatic box making machine and companion slitter. Salient features and requirements of box making machine are as follows: Capable of notching and creasing single, double (600 lb), and triple wall (1200 lb) fiberboard. Capable of producing regular slotted, full overlap, half slotted, and other style cartons as needed. Capable of producing 75 size, 12" by 12" by 18" high carton blanks made of single or double wall fiberboard within a period of one hour. Cartons can vary in size from 2" by 2" by 2" to any length by 36" by 44". Set-up time not to exceed 1 minute (60 seconds). Capable of slotting up to 18 inches. Slotting notch not to exceed 0.25 inch. Capable of making a body crease in triple wall fiberboard up to 44" in length. Capability to program computer for size and style off control panel with minimal manual operation. All computer parts are to be standard off the shelf parts. Capable of producing carton size in millimeters or inches. Step motor to operate off 110 volts, 60 cycles, single phase current. Compressed air requirements should not exceed 100 psi. Capable to operate in a floor space of 6' by 12' (72 sq ft). Machine height shall not exceed 6'. Can be operated by a single operator. Salient features and requirements of electrically powered fiberboard slitter/cutter are as follows: Capable of slitting/cutting 4' by 8' sheets of single, double (600 lb), and triple wall (1200 lb) fiberboard. Operate off 110 volts, 60 cycles, single phase current. Has a slitting depth of over 48 inches. Has a variable speed from 1 to 100 inches per second. Set-up time not to exceed 30 seconds. Capable of operating in a floor space of 6' by 12'. Machine height not to exceed 6'. Contains an adjustable back stop to set for desired sheet width. Requires only a single person to operate.
