Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to procure services of a vendor to perform authentication of approximately four (4) cell cultures per month, as provided by the CDC's Cell Culture Section. The authenticity testing shall include isozyme phenotype analysis, species specific immunofluorescence, cytogentic and Karyotype analysis. The testing is required, as a quality control test, to insure the authenticity of the cell cultures provided by Cell Culture Development Section to laboratories within CDC. A sole source procurement is anticipated with The Children's Hospital of Michigan. The basis for the anticipated sole source is that CDC has previously been unsuccessful in locating any other vendor to provide these services and the fact that their services are tailored to the cell culture laboratory and quality assurance of repository culture collections.
