Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to procure services of a vendor to recruit and enroll subjects with pre-invasive cervical lesions from high-risk patients using the Grady Memorial Hospital Health Care System. The vendor shall assign a unique study number for each patient and shall maintain this information in a secure database with no link between the number and patient identifiers. The vendor shall collect and record clinical and epidemiologic data for each participant and shall collect blood samples, perform pelvic examinations on all subjects, colposcopic examinations on case subjects and shall collect ecto- and endocervical samples. The vendor shall obtain surgical pathology and cytology slides, used to clinically diagnose cervical diseases, and shall transmit to CDC study pathologists for review. The goal of this study is to identify and validate molecular signatures of incipient neoplasias to improve cancer survival by early detection of lesions at a preinvasive or early stage amenable to chemoprevention, chemotherapeutics and curative therapy can be realized. A sole source procurement is anticipated with Emory University School of Medicine, based on their having clinical responsibility for the gynecologic clinics at Grady Memorial Hospital. All inquiries must reflect the RFQ number. Point of Contact is Sue Lyle at the address shown, Mailstop K70, or via e-mail at SIL2@cdc.gov, or by facsimile at 770-488-2670 or 2671.
