Description

The Department of the Interior, National Business Center (NBC), proposes to contract for services to relocate it's Reston VA data center tape library to the NBC's Denver data center. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation No. NBCD1QX0001 is a Request For Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-20.The associated NAICS code is 541519. The contractor shall provide all plant, material and labor necessary to meet the requirements of this Statement Of Work (SOW). The NBC has the following requirement: Relocate approximately 2500 critical cartridges expedited (by air) accompanied by a Government employee from Reston, VA to Denver, CO. Relocate approx. 100,000 cartridges/tapes (media) shipped via climate controlled tractor trailers ( these will not have a Government escort). Relocate IBM Automatic Tape Library (approximately 11,000 pounds) and six EDP double sided racks with sliders shipped via climate controlled tractor trailers. Provide labor to pack the critical tapes as well as the 100,000 tapes at the Reston facility and repopulate into racking system in the Denver facility. Provide all packing materials to include boxes for the media, pallets for the movement and other shipping related materials and forklift equipment, etc. The tapes are to be packed in slot order and unpacked in slot order. Some of the media is classified requiring individuals to have NACI and individual client clearance requirements. Performance of all activities necessary to accomplish this SOW must take place between January 09, 2001 and January 15, 2001. The offeror's quote shall be for 1 lump sum. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from this combined synopsis/solicitation to the responsible offeror whose quotation, conforming to this synopsis/ solicitation, will offer the best value to the Government, price and other factors considered. The quotations will be evaluated as to how well the quotation meets the technical requirements and time frames of this synopsis/solicitation and the reasonableness of price. FAR 52.212-1; 52.212-4; and 52.212-5 with subparts (1), (5), (11), (12), (13), (14), (15), (24), (26); 52.222-41; 52.222-42; & 52.222-44 applies. Offerors shall include a completed copy of FAR 52.212-3 with its offer which may be downloaded at www.arnet.gov.
