- Description
- The Defense Distribution Center (DDC) has a requirement for the establishment of an Indefinite Delivery Requirements Contract for two (2) different sizes of "Hanger Boxes" (6 X 22 X 37 and 3 X 22 X 37) to be designed as self-contained hanger systems for shipping jackets, suits and full-length coats. The bursting strength for all boxes is 275 lbs. per square inch. The minimum combination weight facing for all boxes is 110 lbs. per square inch. The minimum gross weight capacity for all boxes is 90 lbs. Construction of boxes: Each of these types of boxes should be made so it folds closed in a manner similar to a pizza box; in other words, three sides are open and one side is closed with the edge serving as a hinge. The top inner edge should have two slits to accommodate the hook(s) of the hanger(s). The portion of the box that supports the hanger hook(s) should be reinforced to prevent tearing of that portion. When the box is closed the outside edge should cover and hold down the hanger hooks in such a way that the hooks are not exposed and cannot catch on anything while the box is being handled and transported. Markings on boxes: Two arrows, one on a narrow side and one on a wide side, should point to the top (the end with the slits for the hangers). A legend should read "THIS END UP" on both sides with the arrows. This is to ensure that the box is not stored/shipped upside down, which could wrinkle the coats. It is strongly recommended that the contractor visit the operation or request samples to ensure that they can provide an adequate product to meet the Government's needs. This material shall be delivered to the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna (DDSP), New Cumberland, PA, EDC Building, Bay Door 167, 2001 Mission Drive, New Cumberland, PA 17070. Contract period shall be for One (1) year base period with four (4) option years. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this project is 2653 and the size standard is 500 employees. NOTE: ALL SOURCES MUST BE REGISTED IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR) DATABASE. INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION MAY BE OBTAINED BY CALL 1-800-227-2423 OR VIA THE INTERNET AT http://www.ccr2000.com.
