- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC) is in the planning stages of a major information technology acquisition. The title of the program is Austin Automation Center Enterprise System (AACES). The resultant solicitation will include hardware, software, technical, professional, and support services, for the AAC for a 10-year period beginning October 1, 2001. As part of the Market Research/Request for Information process, a vendor conference is being conducted at the Holiday Inn South, 3401 South IH-35, Austin, Texas 78772 (phone number 512-448-4444), on January 17, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for information exchange prior to finalizing the request for proposal (RFP) document. AAC will present a briefing on the purpose, goals, and objectives of the AACES program, and the acquisition approach. Vendors will be provided an opportunity during the conference to ask questions regarding the program and provide comments or recommendations for AAC to consider in completing the RFP. Vendors may also provide written comment by January 31, 2001. Interested vendors may obtain additional information about the AAC and download a copy of the draft statement of work at http://www.va.aac.gov. Vendors should schedule to attend the conference by no later than January 10, 2001. To schedule attendance, click on AACES at the web site and complete the registration form. Due to limited space, participation is limited to three representatives per company. See numbered Note 2.
