Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, MD has a requirement for Shipboard/Shore Based Mechanical Facilities Services in support of the Ship/Shore Communications and Electronics Team (NAWCAD Code 4.5.8). These services will include; maintenance of machine shop tools, material stockroom, and warehouses; mechanical fabrication and assembly of project equipment; vehicle operation; fuel farm operation support; engraving machine operations; pre-surface conditioning and painting of project equipment; fiberglass repair efforts. The Government anticipates award of a cost plus fixed fee level of effort type contract with a base period of one year, with 4 one-year option periods, for a total performance period of five years. The estimated Level of Effort (LOE) on annual basis is 84,000 man-hours. The resultant contract will also include provisional contract line items for mechanical facilities support to accommodate workload variations exceeding the onsite Government equipment capabilities. This competitive procurement is set-aside 100% for small business firms under NAICS Code 541330, size standard $20.0 million. This action is a follow-on to contract N00421-96-C-5072 with Planned Systems International, Inc., 10632 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 200, Columbia, MD 21044-3205. The Request for Proposal (RFP) (anticipated to be released on or before 31 January 2001), amendments, industry questions, and subsequent answers will be published via the internet in Microsoft Word 97 format and will reside on the NAVAIR Homepage for downloading, located on the World Wide Web (www). The www server may be accessed using the browsers such as Netscape and the Microsoft Internet Explorer. The RFP will be located on the NAVAIR Homepage and can be accessed at http://www.navair.navy.mil/business/ecommerce/index.cfm. In addition to making the solicitation available for downloading via the Internet site this office will also attempt to e-mail a notification of the release of the solicitation and any subsequent amendments to all prospective offerors that submit a request for this information via e-mail.
