Description

The US Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Soldier Systems Center, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with WASTECH International, Inc., of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a) and (b) (1) (ii). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. WASTECH has patented rights to an existing microwave wastewater treatment system. WASTECH is the developer and sole producer of this system. The procurement of this item from WASTECH will result in significant resource savings by avoiding unnecessary duplication of research, and achieve early fielding of the device. The Government intends to procure a demonstratable prototype from WASTECH, which may result in a follow-on contract if supplies are deemed to available only from the original source or if other sources would result in substantial duplication costs.
