Description
The VA Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan is soliciting offers to provide Radiology Staffing Services at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Outpatient Clinic, 3019 Coit Avenue, Grand Rapids, Michigan from April 1, 2001, through March 31, 2002, with two pre-price option years from April 1, 2002, through March 31, 2004. The successful offeror shall provide radiologists and technologists to fully staff the radiology clinic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Successful offeror shall be responsible for primary and backup coverage for radiologists and technicians at the VA Outpatient Clinic. Radiologists shall be required on-site a minimum of two hours per day/five days per week, Technologists shall be required a minimum of one full-time technologist to perform Cat Scans, fluoroscopy, and general radiology examinations/five days per week and one ultrasonographer four to six hours per day/two days per week. A part-time technologist to assist with fluoroscopy and general radiology in addition to the full-time technologist through June 30, 2001 of the base year. The requirement for a CT qualified technologist will not exist after June 30, 2001, at which time the requirement will for 1.5 FTEE will be reduced to 1 FTEE to for fluoroscopy and general radiologic examinations. The primary radiologist shall also be designated as the Radiation Safety Officer. Offerors are invited to submit any combination if hours that will support the radiology clinic workload with uninterrupted service. At a minimum the following documentation shall be submitted with offers: A copy of (1) all radiologists' Board Certification in Radiology and current full and unrestricted license to practice in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States, (2) all Technologists' certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, (3) Evidence that Technologists have a minimum two years on-the-job experience, with at least one year experience in CT, Fluoroscopy, General Radiology, and Ultrasound, (4) A current, completed Competency Assessment Checklist, (5) Documentation that peer reviews are conducted, for individuals proposed to work under the contract, on a quarterly basis, (6) Certification of Basis Cardio Life Support training for all individuals proposed to work under the contract, and (7) Evidence that the offeror and/or individuals proposed to work under this contract are located in an area close enough proximity to the VA Outpatient Clinic to provide uninterrupted staffing coverage at all times. The solicitation will be issued on or about December 29, 2000. Proposals are due by 4:30 p.m., local time, January 29, 2001.
