- Request for comments are solicited for the draft specification of Timing and Frequency Equipment (TFE). In accordance with subject specification, the requirement of this acquisition is to provide thirty-eight (38) TFE suites, Operator and Maintenance Training, Spare Parts, Documentation and Ten (10) Year Extended Warranty. The TFE will replace the existing LORAN _C Timing and Control Equipment (LTCE) suites and shall fully integrate into existing Coast Guard Loran _C transmitting stations which includes LORAN _ C Solid State Transmitters and Tube Type Transmitters, primary frequency standards, and remote monitoring and control systems and equipment. The draft specification will be posted on the Loran Support Unit (LSU) Internet site at http://www.uscg.mil/hq/lsu/webpage/LRP/TFEspec.htm. It is the firm_s responsibility to routinely monitor this site and/or the CBD for the release of the draft specification. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with features of the Electronic Posting System (EPS), including its Acquisition Notification services. Potential offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the draft specification. If you encounter problems downloading the document from EPS, please e-mail Pamela Hartman at phartman@comdt.uscg.mil. If you encounter any problems downloading the document from the LSU Internet site, please e-mail Catherine Baskin at cbaskin@comdt.uscg.mil. Industry comments will be fully considered in preparation for the final specification. The USCG will not provide individual responses and requests that no general telephone or e-mail inquiries be made to the Contracting Officer or any USCG employee. Interested firms are encouraged to read the draft specification document posted on the LSU website.
