Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to procure on a sole source basis with Teressa Petralli-Mallow, 19541 Beallesville road, Beallesville, MD 20839, for Editorial Services with the editor of the Langmuir Journal under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Only one source reasonably available. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining a specialized database for manuscripts utilizing the peer review process. The Contractor's experience in submitting manuscripts for publication in the scientific community provided excellent organizational skills and writing skills. These skills are essential to the success of NIST's mission to communicate with scientist on both technical and logistical issues in a timely and efficient manner. The Contractor's highly advanced computer skills with a variety of databases and experience with the scientific literature being published by the Langmuir Journal will assist NIST in meeting it's mission requirements. Award to another source would create delays in fulfilling NIST's mission requirements. A Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order will be issued. The Period of Performance is from date of award through December 29, 2001. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available.
