Description

17. Description: The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Xerox Corporation, 4600 South Ulster, Denver, CO, to upgrade an existing Xerox Black and White 1352 to a Digipath 6100 with associated software and maintenance. The proposed action is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of; FAR 13.106-1(b). The reason justifying this sole source procurement is: the equipment upgrade can only be made by Xerox. All upgrades and maintenance must be provided by Xerox to ensure compatibility with other existing system equipment and uphold warranty provisions. This announcement is not a request for quotes; however, any firm that believes it (1) can furnish the items described above are encouraged to give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All responses received within 7 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted by Fax at (303) 445-6345, Attention: White. Responses should include the firm's business size [e.g. small business, other than small business] in accordance with the size standard: 500 employees for Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 3861.
