Description
POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT. THIS IS NOT AN RFP. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking potential sources for a possible contract to provide Borescope Blending Repair Services to the Government for repair of installed F402-RR-406 and F402-RR-408A/B engines. These services shall include inspection of candidate engines and repair of those engines at Marine Corps Air Stations in Yuma, AZ, Cherry Point, NC, Iwakuni, Japan, and sites at Rota, Spain and Grotaglia, Italy in support of the Spanish and Italian Navies. The Contractor shall be required to travel to the sites within 72 hours of a request by authorized site representatives, blend up to twelve (12 ea) blades on engines installed on the aircraft and document and photograph the repair in accordance with the appropriate technical documentation. Blending services for additional engines and/or additional blades per site visit shall also be priced for an as needed requirement. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing any and all unique or special tools or equipment necessary for conducting the repairs. All tools/equipment will accompany the repair team members upon acceptance of a request or will be prepositioned at the site to preclude delay of repairs. Responses to this Sources Sought Announcement should include a synopsis of the Contractor's experience in the field of turbine engine repairs, to include borescope blending of turbine engine blade defects. Additionally, the Contractor is requested to provide a description of their proposed repair team, including size, individual team member technical capabilities/skill levels and responsibilities, as well as tools, equipment, and processes to be utilized. Team members must be capable of receiving security clearances for access to military installations. This request for information is NOT a contract; or a request for proposal; or a premise to contract; or a commitment of any kind. The Navy will NOT assume liability for costs incurred by any offeror for any data offered for examination; therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge of the Government. The Government reserves the right to review and use data at its own discretion. Upon request, NAVAIR will protect the proprietary information from unwanted disclosure.
