Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice as required by FAR 36.213-2. The successful contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to complete the construction of a 1,200 square foot addition to the existing Headquarters Building, and remodeling within the building. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition, asbestos abatement, earthwork, site utilities, exterior concrete flatwork, concrete foundations and floor slabs, wood framing, prefabricated wood trusses, steel siding, wood shake roofing, doors, windows, various interior finishes, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. The project is located at the Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Medicine Lake, MT. The Government Estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000. Davis-Bacon payrolls shall be required. Bid, payment and performance bonds are required as follows: bid bond -- 20% of bid price, payment and performance bonds -- 100% of contract price. The period of performance will be 210 calendar days from receipt of the notice to proceed, and liquidated damages of $40 per day will be included in the contract. The notice to proceed is expected to be issued on or about May 1, 2001, or as early as spring weather permits. This project is open to both large and small businesses pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
