Description
Potential Sources Sought for XM79 Igniter, NSN: 1375-01-353-1038. The Mines, Demolition and Grenade Office of the Operations Support Command (OSC) is conducting a Market Survey of industry to identify sources that are capable of manufacturing the XM79 Igniter. The Technical Description of this item is XM79 Igniter Incendiary Explosive -- DOD Ammunition Code 1375-MN60. The igniter is composed of an electric match and an ignition column. This information can be requested from the Procuring Contracting Officer Sue Wilson, (309) 782-1019, or DSN 793-1019, e-mail wilsons@osc.army.mil. A respondent to this survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical skills, manufacturing capability and good past performance in the explosive processing industry. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture this incendiary explosive. If a respondent does not have resources (technical, manufacaturing, personnel, etc) avaiable, the respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria. Interested companies who feel they have the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the government the following information, a brief summary of the company's capabilities, including a description of facilities, personnel, and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria. Also, please provide estimated minimum monthly production quantities and the Minimum Procurement Quantity (MPQ) required for production. This information shall be submitted within 15 calendar days from the date of this publication to: US Army Operations Support Command, ATTN: Sue Wilson, AMSOS-CCM-F, Rock Island, IL 61299-6000. This is a market surey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop an acquisition strategy for future requirements. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status.
