CBD Announcement: DOD Low-Level Radioactive Waste Generators Meeting Call for Papers and Exhibitors The DOD Executive Agency for Low-Level Radioactive Waste will hold the tenth annual Waste Generators Meeting at the St. Louis Marriott Pavilion Downtown in St. Louis, MO, 21-24 May 2001. The objective of the meeting is to give you the opportunity to meet and hear from management personnel responsible for the Department of Defense (DOD) Radioactive Waste Disposal Program and give you information on a variety of radioactive waste issues. The agenda will focus on the changes affecting current and new disposal site availability, disposal costs, new technologies for waste management, radioactive materials in the public sector and other national issues. Attendees will include representatives of the Army, Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Corps of Engineers, Air Force, Department of Energy, state governments, regulators, low-level waste compacts, the Low-Level Waste Forum, and the low-level waste contractors. There will be a limited amount of display/exhibit space available. We are also soliciting technical presentations from the industry. Technical presentations must be applicable to DOD generated waste streams and processing requirements, and will be selected on a first come basis -- these agenda time slots are extremely limited and require an abstract NLT 16 April, 2001. In the past there have been an average of 100 attendees, 12 exhibitors and 4 technical presentations selected.
