Description
The project involves the construction of a new 27,000 square feet Male Dormitory building at the Sacramento Job Corps Center in Sacramento, California. The work includes site demolition, utilities, grading/earthwork, landscaping and paving sitework for construction of a Type V-N, with fire sprinkler structure constructed from reinforced concrete floor slab with continuous spread foundation, concrete masonry unit exterior, common and interior walls, plywood roof deck over wood framing at the roof, a pitched metal horizontal lapped seam mansard roof over plywood deck with insulation under the deck, standard and laminated wood beams, aluminum storefront, metal door and frames, wood doors, carpet, VCT, ceramic tile floors and wainscots, tinted and insulated window units at exterior walls, one-hour gypsum board ceilings or one-hour lay in T-bar ceiling assemblies, plumbing, heating-ventilating-air conditioning, fire sprinklers, electrical systems and lighting. The estimated cost range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The estimated completion time is 356 calendar days. Plans and specifications will be available on or about February 1, 2001, from the office of the U.S. Department of Labor/ETA, C/O Durrant Architects, 1718 Third Street, Suite 201, Sacramento California 95814. Contact Mr. Henry Rhetta at (916) 441-0686 for additional information regarding this project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall only be directed to Durrant Architects to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing, and a $50.00 bid deposit which is refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good condition. This bid deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to the A/E Firm at the time of request. Request will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. Pre-bid Conference is scheduled on February 13, 2001 at 2:00 P.M., local time at the Sacramento Job Corps Center. Bid Opening is March 5, 2001 at 2:00 P.M., local time at the Architect/Engineering office mentioned above. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside acquisition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 233320. The Business Size Standard is $27.5 million.
