Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking information from interested US domestic sources for the manufacture of one port cycloidal, variable pitch type propeller for MHC 51 Class ships. The MHC 51 Class ships have installed Voith Schneider, Model 21GS propeller systems. The propeller system must be of nonmagnetic construction and capable of withstanding Grade A shock requirements. The propeller must also meet the low noise signature requirements and compatibility with the present worm gear drive design. The propeller must be of an opposite hand rotation. The port propeller rotor turns clockwise and the starboard propeller rotor turns counterclockwise when viewed from above. Each propeller shall have the following characteristics: a. Number of blades: 5 b. Blade Orbit Diameter: 2100mm c. Blade length: 1600mm d. Blade Material: Nickel-Aluminum-Bronze, ABS Type 4 Material e. Control Rod Material: Non-Magnetic f. Continuous Approximate Power Input: 558Kw g. Continuous Approximate Power Propeller RPM: 87 h.
