Description

It is the intent of National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure on a sole source basis from ADAM.COM, Inc., Atlanta, GA a continuation of services for the platform license entitled "ADAM Health and Wellness Medical Encyclopedia" U.S. English version including articles and related images and illustrations. The purchase order term will be March 1, 2001 through February 28, 2002 with options to extend the term for two (2) successive one (1) year periods. NLM has a continuing need for the Adam Health and Wellness Medical Encyclopedia to complement information provided on its MEDLINEplus website. ADAM.COM, Inc. is a leading online provider of health, medical and wellness information with over 4,000 articles and images aimed at the health consumer. This company is the proprietary provider for this service. It provides authoritative articles written for the consumer, high-quality images, the ability to host the encyclopedia with images on its own web-site or to permit NLM to host on our web site. In either case, the product can be customized to provide a consistent look and feel for NLM users. If hosted on the ADAM site, content pages are displayed in an ad-free environment. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide service as specified above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in this office within fifteen (15) calendar days from publication date of this notice, and must include pricing information and meet the criteria requirement.
