Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Orlando Airport Marriott in Orlando, Florida to provide conference services for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Working Group meeting on March 19-23, 2001. Market research has indicated that the Airport Marriott is the only hotel with the space available on the dates required and is located close enough to the airport to eliminate the need for rental cars. The Contractor shall provide the following requirements: Meeting Space: 1 room, set classroom style for 20, from noon to 5:00 p.m. March 19th, 3 meeting rooms, set classroom style for 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 1 meeting room, set classroom style for 50, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 20th, 1 plenary room, classroom or theater style for 200, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. March 21st, 1 room, set classroom style for 150, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 1 room, set classroom style for 50, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. March 22nd, and 3 meeting rooms, set classroom style for 50, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 23rd. A registration area will be set up outside the meeting rooms and will be open from noon on March 19 to 5:00 p.m. on March 23. Food: continental breakfast and buffet lunch for 100 to 200 on March 20-23, 2001 and a buffet dinner for 200 on March 21, 2001. Sleeping Rooms: 20 sleeping rooms for arrival on March 18, 100 rooms from arrival March 19 through departure March 23. Audio-visual: podium, overhead projector, data projector, screen and flip chart in each meeting room will be provided. FAR clauses and provisions referenced in this announcement may be downloaded from http://www.arnet.gov/far. This procurement is authorized by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The proposed requirement is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one lone responsible source under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting From a Single Source. The procurement document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-20. FAR 52.212-1 Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items, FAR 52..212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, FAR 52.212.-5, Contract Terms & Conditions required to implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items are applicable to this acquisition. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed priced purchase order. This is not a request for quotations. A solicitation package is not available.
