This is a combined solicitation/synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number F4RSAM03550100 is issued as a Request for Quotes seeking offers for the supply of baseball caps for the Air Force Recruiting Service. 115,008 caps are being acquired that meet the following standards: six panel construction, unstructured, cloth closure, brass buckle with grommet, pigment dyed to a royal blue and then cap should appear as stone washed(this will dull the brightness of the blue and this is the look that the customer is trying to attain), garment washed, 100% cotton twill, Air Force logo on front of cap in silver mylar thread, Back of cap to have "No one comes Close" sewn in silver mylar thread. There are three different shipping destinations: All shipping destinations are within the continental United States and include Texas, Alabama, and Maryland. The delivery date for all 115,008 hats will be 15 March 2001. No exceptions to the delivery date will be made. The Air Force will require a first article to be approved before production can start. The logo to appear on the cap is the new Air Force logo. It can be seen by going to WWW.AIRFORCE.COM and watching the flash video intro to the page. When shipped the hats should be in packs of 12 with 48 to a carton. The provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisitions Circular 97-22. This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside using the Size Standard in Far 19 under Standard Industry Code (SIC) is 5136.
