Description
Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs including but not limited to the following base items: (1) Clean and inspect diesel fuel and oil tanks, (2) Clean, inspect and disinfect potable water tank(s), (3) Clean and inspect fuel oil coolers, (4) Renew radar pedestal, (5) Clean and inspect hydraulic oil coolers, (6) Inspect and test cross deck winches, (7) Inspect, test and preserve chain in-haul device, (8) Inspect and test hydraulic chain stoppers, (9) Inspect and overhaul mechanical chain stoppers, (10) Inspect and test boat davits, (11) Inspect and test buoy crane, (12) Inspect various deck fittings, (13) Buoy deck preservation, (14) Preserve stack exterior and exhaust louvers and screens, (15) Modify reverse osmosis desalination plants, (16) Preserve capstan drums, (17) Overhaul anchor windlass brake control assemblies, (18) Renew emergency crane lowering system external components, (19) Replace wardroom deck covering system, etc. The following option items may be exercised during the contract period: (1) Welding Repairs, etc. The vessel is a 225 Foot Seagoing Buoy Tender. The vessel's homeport is Atlantic Beach, NC. The period of performance is for thirty-five (35) days commencing 01 MAY 2001. The place of performance is the cutter's homepier. All referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advanced notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a $150.00 non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirement. Plans and specifications will be issued on or about 02 FEB 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the United States Coast Guard. "ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's)!
