TAX ADMINISTRATION ADVISORS GLOBAL ASSIGNMENTS The US Treasury Department Office of Technical Assistance is recruiting experienced professionals in the areas of tax policy and administration on a competitive basis for both resident and/or intermittent advisory assignments. This announcement is for Global Technical Assistance assignments. Immediate openings currently exist for a resident tax advisor in Sarajevo, Bosnia; Belgrade, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; Dakar, Senegal; Yerevan, Armenia; and Pretoria, South Africa. In addition to existing projects in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union, the potential also exists for additional resident and/or intermittent assignments in Africa, Asia, South and Central America. Intermittent assignments normally range in duration from two weeks to several months at a time in support of existing projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Treasury is seeking candidates who possess expertise in all areas of tax administration, to include Audit, Collection, Returns Processing, Taxpayer Service, Training and Information Systems. Tax policy experts should possess experience in the review, analysis and development of tax policy proposals, in the drafting and review of tax laws and regulations, and the review and analysis of the economic impact of tax changes. Resident positions require candidates to have significant project management experience, to include the ability to prepare project work plans, statements of work and manage resources. Prior foreign assistance work and knowledge of a foreign language are highly desirable, but not required. In addition to technical skills, we are looking for individuals with outstanding communication skills, capable of listening to the client and then providing effective oral and written responses. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salaries are negotiable in accordance with government regulations based on demonstrated salary history and market comparability of similar positions, but will not exceed $122,400. Overseas benefits are provided as allowed by federal regulations. This announcement is open and continuous until June 30,2001.
