- Description
- NASA/JSC is hereby soliciting information for potential sources for the Point of Sales (POS) "Turn Key" system for the NASA/Johnson Space Center, Exchange located at Houston, Texas. The NASA Exchange is a $3.5M gross sales, non-profit, non-appropriated funded, federal instrumentality. The contractor will provide a POS system to include hardware, software, and user support for two cafeterias and two retail stores located onsite. Future option plans would include recreational and banquet facilities. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: The NASA Exchange is looking for a system in which the Contractor puts the total system in place, connects it to the JSC network as required, interfaces with the Network Access Control Board (NACB) as required for network security issues, and provides support for day to day operations and maintenance over the lifetime of the system. The Contractor shall provide the following: (1) System integration of all elements (2) All hardware & software components (3) Provide installation, training, startup support and ongoing maintenance support the system and all system elements (4) Application administration (5) Server and Server administration if required (6) Technical Support (7) Help Desk (8) POS must provide a variety of reports (i.e., sales by category, summary of payment method, customer count, etc.) (9) Utilize existing Integrated Network System (INS) infrastructure CAFETERIA REQUIREMENTS: (1) Cafeteria menu item pricing and updates for POS mus be able to upload/download to all cafeteria registers. (2) Electronic scales that feed to the POS system RETAIL STORE REQUIREMENTS: (1) Centralized item pricing and updates (including discounts) (2) Inventory control system for all merchandise (3) Generate barcodes for soft goods with the ability to print tags and adhesive labels. MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS: (1) Provides for emergency service when there is a critical need No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in the CBD and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these cites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are encouraged to submit product information, commercial price lists, leasing options, and references. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact -- address and phone number). This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Cheryl D.
