Description

Solid Waste Colection and Disposal Services at GSFC/Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA 23337. This is a notice of intent to issue a Request for Proposal on a noncompetitive basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1)"Only One Responsible Source", to Shore Disposal, 22 S. Railroad Avenue, Georgetown, DE 19947 for a two month extension, March 1, 2001 through April 30, 2001, with four one month options periods through August 31, 2001 under contract NAS5-32268. This proposed solid waste collection and disposal support is necessary for continued solid waste collection and disposal services at GSFC, Wallops Flight Facility. The current solid waste collection and disposal contract is scheduled to expire on February 28, 2001. Solid waste collection and disposal will be included int the Wallops Institutional Consolidated Contract (WICC). Competition of this contract is not possible due to the short duration of the service period. Award of this extension to other than the imcumbent would likely result in disruption of services. Continued services with the contract are considered necessary for orderly and effective solid waste collection and disposal services. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to GSFC/Wallops Flight Facility and individual point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 14, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice solely within the discretion of the Government.
