Description

Westinghouse Savannah River Company, management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking Expressions of Interest from parties with the capability of purchasing Heavy Water (HW). It has been determined that a portion of the DOE's Heavy Water Inventory is no longer required. DOE intends to sell its excess heavy water inventory. Approximately 1000 metric tons (MT) have been authorized for immediate sale. Heavy Water is an export controlled commodity. The buyer is responsible for obtaining appropriate export licenses if the water is to be shipped outside of the U.S. Therefore, any sale may be contingent upon receipt of an export license. A minimum quantity of three (3) Metric Tons has been established; however, DOE may give preference to offers for larger lots. Technical specifications of the HW are available upon request. Any interested parties that are capable of purchasing Heavy Water shall forward written/e-mail statements of interest to Westinghouse Savannah River Company, Attn: George M. In order to ensure consideration during statement evaluations, written statements of interest must be received no later than March 1, 2001. Statements received after that time will be considered on an as-available basis. This is a request for Expressions of Interest only; it is not a formal request for proposal.
