Description
The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) is seeking sources to provide software and maintenance service for an intranet-based information distribution system to replace our current mainframe-based system. The RRB is a Federal agency with approximately 1,200 end users, 60 of which are procedure and information writers. The RRB's current documents are stored and viewed electronically through a mainframe product called TextBOOK by Document Sciences Corporation. The majority of the documents are procedural based used to administer the agency's benefit programs. The documents are text only. Graphics are not part of the current online presentation. The source documents are stored in the TextBOOK database in SGML. The documents use just under 500 megabytes of storage. The documents are organized into libraries, manuals, chapters and sections. The period of performance shall be for one year with four one year options beginning April 16, 2001.
