- Description
- The primary objective is to provide the technical assistance necessary to redesign the process of medical staff credentialing in the Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) to meet industry standards. The Billings Area IHS is responsible for the credentialing of several hundred licensed independent health care providers. The Billings Area IHS does not have the expertise to provide adequate technical assistance to our Hospitals and Health Centers so that they can maintain their credentialing programs according to accredditation standards. Prospective Contractors will 1.) Review and make recommendations for the Billings Area Credentialing Circular to meet industry standards. 2.) Assist in the design of credentialing policies and procedures to implement the revised Billings Area IHS Credentialing Circular to meet industry standards. 3.) Provide two hour training sessions at a combined Directors/Clinical Directors/Chief Medical Officers meeting. 4). Provide implementation assistance for processes specified in action plan; includes site visits to at least two of our health centers. (Airfare/Time/Per-diem not included) (Vehicle provided by Indian Health Service). Contractor must be NAMMS certified. Contractor recommendations will be consistent with JCAHO and AAAHC accreditation standards. Contractor shall abide by the Privacy Act. Contractor shall abide by the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Protection Act. Contractor shall abide by the Crime Control Act of 1990. Experience with IHS is required, including familiarity with one of our hospitals/health centers. Period of performance will commence in February 2001 and be completed by September 30, 2001. Price factors will also be considered when evaluating proposals. We request all quotations submitted provide a breakdown of costs, including travel, time and per-diem. Days on-site do not include travel. Travel will consist of 3 trips to Billings, Montana and 1 trip to Great Falls, Montana.
