Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Mobile District Corps of Engineers intends to explore the availability of nationwide 8(a) design/build contractors for the following project: Design/Construction of a two-story, 8,500 SM facility, with reinforced concrete foundation and floor slab, exterior stucco walls, standing seam, and built-up roof systems. Also included are elevators, supporting utilities, parking, and landscaping and all other necessary systems required to support an education facility, including an auditorium. In addition, the project includes the demolition of two 4,100 SM facilities. Asbestos and lead based paint removal will be required prior to demolition. Estimated magnitude of project: $10 -- $15M. Please advise of possible interest in this project as a qualified 8(a) firm. A synopsis of previous projects, similar to the DEOMI facility, including dollar value, description of work, ultimate end user/customer of the project with points of contact and phone numbers, bonding capability, possible partners in this DEOMI endeavor, and any particular design/build experience of your firm. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, and is not to be construed as a Request for Proposal, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
