Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on behalf of NTIS, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with ANACOMP Incorporated, 12120-A Plum Orchard Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20904, under the authority of FAR Part 13.501(a) "Sole Source Acquisitions" for a maintenance agreement for equipment on site at NTIS, Springfield, VA. The full service maintenance agreement shall cover the following: a Datagraphics XFP2000 Computer Output of Microfiche (COM), Datamaster II, AutoSort, and associated software and hardware. The NAICS code is 333315 and the associated size standard is 500 employees. This equipment is used to produce microfiche from an electronic image stored on the existing ADSTAR storage system. This unit requires a specialized vendor who is familiar with and can provide the parts necessary to service this equipment. ANACOMP is the manufacturer of this unit and is the only known vendor capable of maintaining parts, software, and all software upgrades necessary to maintain this unit. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. The period of performance for this requirement is a base period of 12 months and four (4) option periods of 12 months each. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
