Description
Request For Qualifications. The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) is seeking qualified Contractors to provide services for the construction of the Huhugam Heritage Center and a Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Control Center, approximately 50,000 gross square feet. From the qualification submittals, qualified contractors will be invited to submit proposals. Contractors must have the ability to provide Performance and Bid Bonds for an estimated construction cost of between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Project Description: The Gila River Indian Community is located in central Arizona in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. The reservation is south of the Phoenix metropolitan area and is divided by Interstate 10. The reservation contains approximately 372,000 acres, of which 68 acres have been set aside for the new Huhugam Heritage Center and P-MIP control Center. The site is located at the North edge of the reservation, west of I-10, at the intersection of Old Maricopa and Queen Creek Roads. The Huhugam Heritage Center represents a major commitment on the part of the Gila River Indian Community to preserve their cultural heritage. The project involves the construction of three buildings and an earthen berm, which comprise the Huhugam Heritage Center, and one building, which is the Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project Control Center, located southwest of the Heritage Center on the same 68-acre site. Qualification Process and Criteria: The Contractor for the Huhugam Heritage Center (HHC) and Pima-Maricopa Irrigation (P-MIP) Control Center will be evaluated by a three step process: (1) Statements of Qualifications which will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Experience and qualifications of the prime firm; Experience and qualifications of the sub-contractors, if any; Principal office location; Indian preference; Experience in working on American Indian reservations, especially the Gila River Indian Reservation; Experience with similar projects (2) Interviews with Qualified Contractors based on SOQs. Qualified Contractors will be invited to interview with the Owner and Architect. The interview will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Specific project approach; Abilities of key individuals committed to job; Ability to meet Tribal Employment requirements; Commitment to submit proposal. (3) Invitations to Submit Bids, based on the interview process. Qualified Contractors will be invited to submit bids. The bid proposal will include the following: Complete Bid Form/Bid Bonds; Bid Security; Certification of Bidder's Qualifications; Designation of Subcontractors ATTENTION: Interested Contractors are invited to request a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) submittal package, which contains general information about the project, specific instructions for submittals, and further information about the evaluation criteria.
