Description
The following information supercedes the amendment that was issued to ProcNet only on 1/26/01. This information supplements the original Sources Sought Notice dated 12/19/00. Recent guidance suggests that a production cut-in date of 2007 for improvements to the Bradley's armament system may be optimistic. The funding decisions are dependent upon the Future Combat System (FCS) technology decision in April FY03. If FCS fielding is delayed, then funding for a Bradley Armament Improvement will be aggressively pursued in the FY05-FY09 mini Program Objectives Memorandum (POM). Despite this change in schedule, PM-TMAS will still be conducting a Medium Caliber Armament Study using the information received in response to the original announcements as well as information obtained in response to this amendment. In addition to the data previously requested, information is further sought on how the ammunition, cannons and feed systems can be applied to additional, on-going Army needs for improved lethality and system effectiveness. These additional applications include the FCS variants requiring secondary armament weapon systems. The response date has been extended until 3/2/01.
