Description

Item 0001. Portable Abrasive Grit Recovery System. Qty 2 Ea. The vacuum unit will be used in dry docks to recover steel grit abrasive from the interior of submarines and transport it to a combination classifier and blast pot for reuse (four tons per hour approx. 200 feet distance). It will be self contained on a skid not to exceed 8' x 10' x12' high when operational. The unit will consist of a multi-stage centrifugal vacuum producer with direct drive electric motor, a cartridge type dust collector with automatic pulse jet cleaning and all necessary controls and accessories, complete and ready to operate. It will be in use outdoors, unprotected, in a salt water marine atmosphere and subjected to year round Northeast coastal weather conditions. This is a solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. This announcement is issued as N00102-00-R-1073 and incorporates provisions and clauses effective through Federal Acquisition circular 97-21. The standard industrial classification (333319). This solicitation is issued using unrestricted full and open competition. Place of delivery is Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth NH.
