Description

This project consists of construction of a new 17,958 square foot USPS-owned facility. Work includes, but is not limited to, site clearing, earthwork, site utilities and site improvements, concrete paving, landscaping and irrigation. Work also includes concrete foundation and slab-on-grade, steel structure, steel joists and decking, roof membrane over roof insulation, sheet metal, job cast concrete tilt-up wall panels, elastromeric coatings, masonry, metal stud partitions, insulation, gypsum board walls and ceilings, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, custom cabinets and fixtures, carpentry, glass storefront system, painting, metal doors, wood doors, metal frames, door hardware, sectional overhead doors, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and accessories, signage, lockers, loading dock equipment, fire protection and detection systems, security systems, electrical and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning complete and ready to use, in accordance with the plans and specifications. Site is located on Pin Oak Road just south of interstate Hwy. 10 in Katy. Estimated cost range is $1,750,000 to $2,000,000 and construction time is 300 days. The Postal Service is presently advertising a new construction project to be known as the Carrier Annex in Missouri City, TX. The Postal Service may elect to award these projects (Katy, TX _ Carrier Annex and Missouri City, TX _ Carrier Annex) to the contractor who provides the best cost value when both projects are combined. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% and subcontract with woman-owned business firms in an amount not less than 7% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offeror must include documentation from bonding agent indicating offeror's capability at time offer is due. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on March 1, 2001. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available after February 1, 2000 at a cost of $175.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only. The relative standing of offeror will no longer be disclosed.
