- MEDICAL SUPPLIES-POTENTIAL SUPPIES SOUGHT Military Hospitals-(Army, Navy, Air Force TRICARE Region 11 Region-wide Safety Needles and Syringes This Commerce Business Daily (CBD) announcement is a notice that TriCare Region 11, which includes all DoD Medical Treatment Facilities in Washington State are in the standardization process for Medical/Surgical Safety Needles and Syringes. The above stated products are to be in accordance with FDA safety design: 1)The safety feature can be activated using a one-handed technique and allows the worker's hands to remain behind the exposed sharp. 2)The safety feature does not obstruct vision of the tip of the sharp. 3)The safety feature operates reliably. 4)There is a distinct change (audible or visible) that occurs when the safety feature is activated. 5)The safety feature cannot be altered or modified to re-expose the needle. If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for these Medical/Surgical products, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you are still eligible to participate in the standardization process for this region by contacting the Defense Surrprt Center-Philadelphia (DSCP), Ms Helen Connor, (215)737-7417, hconnor@dscp.dla.mil. Your company can be considered for standardization once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. After you have notified the Senior Standardization Nurse Consultant that your company wishes to participate, or that your DAPA application is pending with DSCP, your company will be notified through a vendor letter prior to the start of the standardization process for this Medical/Surgical Product Line. The resulting standardization action may result in a Regional Incentative Agreement (RIA)for the items. DAPA holders for this product group are invited to provide us with information pertaining to your company's history, distribution locations, supply chain partnership that you may have embarked on that may affect Region 11. Request that you provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and e-mail address if you are interested in participating in this business opportunity and receiving the list of criteria. This is nt a Request for Proposal, the purpose of this notice is to seek commercial sources that will meet the US Government requirements. Responses to general questions should be provided in MSWord format. Your reply to the CBD shall be in our office NLT February 26, 2002 as of close of business (COB).
