Description

17. The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to issue a competitive solicitation for shipboard preservation team services. These services would involve the preparation and coating of shipboard interior and exterior spaces and equipment with Navy-approved coatings designed to prolong the useful life of the ship and its equipment. A determination has not yet been made regarding its small business set-aside status. This announcement is a follow up to the CBD announcements issued on 5 and 8 January 2001. This announcement provides notification that a draft Statement of Work (SOW) and a general information sheet may be found on the NAVSEA Contracts website at http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil/home.html by clicking on Information Docs. The draft SOW provides a more detailed picture of the requirements to be met by each contractor. Therefore, it is requested that each potential offeror: (1) review the draft SOW and submit any comments and questions; and (2) in view of that SOW, reaffirm interest in this procurement and indicate whether it is a large or small business (use 1000 employees as the size standard) and whether it plans to participate in the competition as a prime contractor or as a sub-contractor.
