Description

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for a not-to-exceed 6-month extension of the NASA-wide Cost-per-Copy (CPC) contract NAS5-96077. NASA/GSFC intends to procure copier services on a sole source basis from Lanier Worldwide, Inc. based on the authority located at FAR 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The extension will commence on August 1, 2001, and is required to provide continuation of services during the phase-in of the follow-on CPC procurement. This extension will include copiers services, supplies, maintenance, repair, replacement parts, and training for NASA Headquarters, all NASA centers, associated facilities, and tenants. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 20, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed, See NASA Specific Note "B".
