Description

This project is a Request for Proposals for the construction of a new facility for the preparation and loading of aerial delivered fire retardants. Facilities and items included in the project are an operations building, warehouse, retardant mixing plant, water storage tanks, aircraft retardant loading pads, retardant delivery system, retardant washdown collection system, aircraft ramps and taxilanes, roads, parking lots, site utilities, site excavation, grading, drainage, aggregate base, asphalt, concrete, fencing, landscaping, signs, site lighting, telecommunications system, radio tower, mobilization, cleanup and other miscellaneous items as required for a complete and functional base. The project is located on a leased parcel of land at the Durango-La Plata County Airport, approximately 18 miles southeast of Durango, Colorado, at 100 County Road 309A, adjacent to the northwest end of Runway 20, taxiway A, in Section 29, Township 34 North, Range 8 West, NMPM, via US Highway 160, CO Highway 172, County Road 309, and County Road 309A. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This will be a firm, fixed-priced contract. The performance period for the proposed contract is 540 calendar days. The proposed contract is available under full and open competition. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. The tentative date for receipt of proposals is March 26, 2001. This date is subject to change.
