Description

The Broadcasting Board of Governors, International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB, Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisition Branch (M/CON/SA) intents to solicit, negotiate and award a Purchase Order (contract) on a non-competitive basis using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR Part 13) to Marconi Mobile Limited, Marconi House, New Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1PL, London, England for the purchase of: B-118-6127-01 Mod -2 Valve Holder Assembly, Qty. 1 each. This part is proprietary to Marconi and is not available from any other source other than the original equipment manufacturer. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition that is applicable to this procurement is FAR Subpart 6.302-1 (a) (2), 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), which states: A(2) when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, full and open competition need not be provided for.@ This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive price quotations. Interested firms or persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government must receive all such price quotations by close of business 5 PM EST, Tuesday, February 30, 2001 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order (contract) based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
