Description

It is the requestor's responsibility to periodically check the IHDIV Contracts Division web-site for the current status of solicitation and amendments. Once the solicitation has been issued on the Internet, the contract specialist will send an e-mail message to the registered requestors informing them that the solicitation is available for downloading off the Internet. The CAD Research and Development Branch at the Naval Surface Warfare Center is conducting a product improvement program to eliminate toxic substances used as ingredients or in the manufacture of US Navy pyrotechnic cartridges and Cartridge Actuated Devices (CADs). The elimination of these materials will improve the producibility of these devices, reduce health hazards to production workers and users, remove toxic materials from the environment, and reduce DEMIL costs. This requirement consists of a follow-on effort to synthesize certain compounds and perform additional screening tests as the next step in the evaluation of a Lead Azide Replacements Study and the NAIC is 541380. Award will be based on past performance and price with past performance more important than price.
