Description

DOC, NOAA's Western Administrative Service Center (WASC) in support of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Auke Bay Laboratory, requires a vessel charter for vessel and crew to provide transport and support for six scientific researchers, from Cordova, Alaska to approximately 120 separate beach segments throughout Prince William Sound, and return to Cordova. Charter will begin and end in Cordova, Alaska. The vessel should be a minimum 50 feet long, with a minimum cruising speed of 10 knots, and be staffed with at least 2 crew members consisting of Captain and one crew member. There will be a minimum of three charter cruises, each of which will be between 18 and 26 days long. A fourth 18-26 day cruise is optional. The first cruise will begin approximately May 1, 2001, and the optional fourth cruise would end before September 15, 2001. The Government's scientific field party will consist of six researchers, and will include both men and women. Field support includes providing meals and on-board lodging for six researchers, transport between intertidal beach sampling locations, and support in the operation of a Van Veen grab benthos sampler. A Request for Proposals providing instructions will be issued on or about February 23, 2001. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. See Numbered Note 1.
