Description

The solicitation for the Caliber 50 Long Range Sniper Ammunition, LRSA, XM102, commercial was released on January 19 and currently has a February 16 closing date for receipt of proposals. However, due to an internal review process regarding the XM107 Sniper Rifle, changes are being considered to the program. These, as yet undefined changes to the rifle program, could obviously affect the requirements for the ammunition. These changes nessitate indefinitely postponing the closing date for receipt of proposals. All prospective offerors are advised that if efforts are being expended in proposal preparation such as developing/manufacturing the sample rounds, they should consider suspending those activities until the Rifle/Ammo requirements are finalized. The Government will keep the solictation "open" indefinitely until a decision is reached on the Rifle program's requirements and the Ammo's performance requirements. The Government will ammend this Commerce Business Daily (CBD) announcement with a more definative closing date upon resolution of the above issues.
