Description

This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order with Hawthorne Machinery, San Diego, CA to provide repairs to a 10,000-pound capacity telescoping forklift used to move cargo and perform heavy lifting of bulk items. This forklift is an all-terrain piece of equipment which meets the requirements to handle material at the remote live fire ranges used by Naval Special Warfare. In accordance with format in FAR Part 12, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice, with FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Small Business Set-Aside. Solicitation Number Q5544610330822 is issued as a request for quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-23. The standard industrial classification code is 3537 and the business size is 750 employees. Closing Date: 02/20/01 Time: 12:00 PM Pacific Time The vendor shall disassemble the engine and radiator compartment to view all necessary parts. The vendor shall extend the outer boom in order to measure all boom sections for straightness. The vendor shall repair or replace the following: parking brake cable and adjust,replace rotating cylinder for carriage, replace right front fender and mounting brakes, replace engine closure and adjust mounting, replace quick coupler on front of boom with new pins and mounting hardware, replace rotating carriage with new pins and hardware, replace radiator group, fan, fan guards with new air up and mount right rear wheel, replace battery cables with new, install new antifreeze and test and adjust machine. The vendor shall also disassemble all 3-boom section; assemble new boom sections using original cylinders. Assembly of boom sections shall include new chains, new wear pads and hardware. The vendor shall also adjust boom sections for proper alignment. The Model TH013 telescoping forklift requires repairs performed exactly to manufacturer's specifications by an authorized Caterpillar Dealer.
