Description
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plans to issue a draft solicitation on or about February 9, 2000, to support the computer information systems of the NHTSA Safety Assurance and Performance Standards offices at the NHTSA Headquarters facility located in Washington, D.C. Support services are to include: computer hardware and software support; database software applications; LAN to local and remote resources; maintenance of optical disk equipment and software; and staffing and management of Help Desk operations. The Government plans to issue a competitive 8(a) solicitation using the SIC Code 7379 or the NAIC Code 541519 with a SBA Size Standard of $18 million. See Note 4. The Government seeks industry comments on the draft specification, and will provide industry with 30 days from the time of Internet posting to comment. The Government contemplates a performance base service contract with a base level of effort and task orders. The period of performance is for base period of one (1) year with options for four (4) additional one-year periods. The draft solicitation is being issued to solicit industry's comments on the approach to fulfilling requirements, planned terms and conditions of the proposed contract, instructions for proposal preparation, and evaluation approaches. All comments received will be considered, however, the Government reserves the right to issue the final solicitation as it deems appropriate. A pre-solicitation meeting is planned for March 1, 2001. The meeting will be held at the DOT Headquarters, Nassif building, 400 Seventh St. SW, Washington DC 20590. Offerors planning to attend should provide names of individuals (limit 3 per vendor), position, telephone and e-mail address. Provide this information to contract specialist via email at jcomella@nhtsa.dot.gov This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The draft solicitation for comments and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the FedBizOpps page is www.fedbizopps.gov or www.eps.gov . It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
