Description

The Coast Guard intends to limit competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 to two (2) canneries in Ketchikan, Alaska; Alaska General Processors and Norquest Seafoods, Inc. A commercial contract will be awarded for full food services to 400 military personnel for a period of twelve (12) days in March 2001 in support of Exercise Northern Edge. No facilities are available for use by other potential offerors. Lack of adequate space, and potential extreme weather conditions preclude use of mobile units. The Period of Performance will be 19 March through 30 March 2001. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The solicitation will be issued to the intended sources on or about 15 February 2001. The NAIC code is 72231, with a size standard of $5 Million. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE_s)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT_s Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT_s Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at prime rate.
