Description

The following solicitation will be issued on or about 13 Feb 01: Provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and incidentals necessary to Install Air Conditioning (Bldg T-715) at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Proposal is broken down into 2 base items. Minor construction includes the air conditioning installation, outdoor condenser, and all associated hardware, electrical materials, and labor to support the installation as well as the balancing of the air conditioning system upon completion. Repair/maintenance includes installation of the fire dampers, hazardous abatement, ceiling grid, new ventilation equipment, and all associated hardware, electrical materials, and labor to support installation as well as the balancing of the system upon completion. There are also 2 additive items, which include installation of ductwork and replacement of bollards. The project performance period is expected to be 134 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000 dollars. Performance Price Tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement and proposals will be solicited on a firm-fixed price lump sum basis. The North American Industry Classification System code assigned to this acquisition is 235110. This requirement is RESTRICTED to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov or at our Internet homepage: http://www.lajes.af.mil then click on Business Opportunities, then click on solicitations on 13 Feb 01. A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on 22 Feb 01 @ 9:00 am local time (subject to change). The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, or drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government_s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium.
