- Description
- The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking interested potential Offerers who possess extensive Nuclear Facilities Operations expertise to respond to a time sensitive requirement that has resulted from the university's most recent contract modification. That modification mandates the rapid initiation of a program that will include identification and implementation of operational improvement for University of California operated nuclear facilities. This new "Nuclear Facilities Operations Improvements initiative" is intended to improve operations and safety at the University of California/Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and University of California/ Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) operated nuclear facilities. Request for Proposal F4182-RFP-01-3Y, which has been issued in response to this new requirement, will result in a Task Ordering Agreement that will provide advisory and assistance support services relating to Nuclear Facilities Operations to University of California organizations. Interested potential Offerers may download a copy of RFP F4182-RFP-01-3Y from the Los Alamos National Laboratory web- site at the URL shown below (Item 18) http://bus.lanl.gov/bus5/vendor/solicitations/default.htm It is the University's intent to award one competitive Task Ordering Agreement with a maximum ceiling amount of $20M. The closing date for submission of offers is March 9, 2001. The work scope that will be included in the resultant Task Ordering Agreement will include an instant requirement for performance of an operational assessment of the LANL Nuclear Facilities. The Task Ordering Agreement Statement of Work will also include provisions for long-term management assistance and technical support on a required basis. It is expected that both the master Task Ordering Agreement and Task Order Number One will be awarded simultaneously by April 13, 2001. The university has placed this requirement on a "fast track," therefore all interested parties are urged to immediately download Request for Proposal F4182-RFP-01-3Y and its associated attachments.
