See Numbered Note 22. This solicitation is to be issued as a Sole Source requirement to provide engineering services and technical recommendations to accommodate the Navy fuse in the development of the M80 Submunition Product Improvement Program, and transition this effort into production, to KDI Precision Products, 3975 McMann Road, Cincinnati, OH 45245-2395. The contractor will provide technical support including industrial engineering and production services for the integration of a proximity fusing system into the M234 Self-destruct Fuse of the M80 Submunition. Requirement includes two contracts: the first, an in-depth design evaluation of the baseline design, procurement of the prototype production tooling and test equipment, and establishment of the manufacturing process required to complete the M80 fuse assemblies, to be awarded as cost plus fixed fee/firm-fixed price type contract. The second contract is for follow-on prototype production of the M234 Self-destruct fuse with a proximity fusing system of the M80 Submunition, to be awarded as firm-fixed-price.
